Changes Are Bad, Edit: Fixed!

This is actually the first time I have bothered to write a review for any app after about 6 years of using the AppStore constantly. this app was one of my favorite games of all time and I’ve had it for a really long time too. This new update is horrible. Half Brick converted their game into a scummy business formula that has been plaguing the gaming industry for the last 2-3 years. I also hope that the decision to erase everyone’s hard-earned progress and hard-bought commodities, like double coins, wasn’t taken lightly. I don’t even think they offered any compensation for people that had such things. All in all I’m deleting the game and pulling my support from this app for this. I have better games to play that focus on entertainment rather than money.
Edit: this app has been reverted to its original pure form. Thus the Developers go back to getting FIVE STARS from me! :D

Jetpack Joyride is a timeless masterpiece

This game, “this app” is a timeless masterpiece, hence the title. There is much to love about this game, such as the descriptions of unlockable features, a game where doesn’t include pop-up ads, the rage you vent on your phone after dying, the references of movies memes (such as Dragonballz and the swag sunglasses found on random cows) and celebrities, the gadgets, the mediocre graphics, the missions, don’t forget the amazing soundtrack, and more, all made by a company who ACTUALLY LISTEN TO YOUR REVIEWS and rewards you for them (like the top hat I was gifted) I guess (thanks hb for changing the game back to normal in September), and what better way to advertise their new games by putting them into the game as vehicles?The only con I can think of is that the company doesn’t have a message stating that no scientists were harmed in the making of the game, I need to be assured! Some suggestions. Maybe when you use the profit bird, scientists can run around attempting to collect as much money as possible, and I think that’s it! I have been able to enjoy this game for years to come, so thanks for making this game, half-brick!

Would give zero stars if I could

this app used to be a fun and simple skilled-based game. Now, it is buggy, convoluted, and an obvious, aggressive cash grab by the devs. The game has several problems now that it did not have 5 years ago. For one, the game pushes ads on me whenever I finish a run and it’s just downright annoying and wrong. Furthermore, if ever I pause the game and close it, my progress is no longer saved as it once had been years ago. Perhaps this app has become slightly more RAM intensive over the years, but there is just no way that an iPhone 7 Plus doesn’t have enough memory to run this app, a game that the iPhone 4S used to run perfectly well in 2012. Finally, the game has a tendency to crash if I try to watch ads to get “free” lives, tokens, and doubled coins in a single run, making me lose not only the bonuses that I watched a minute and a half of ads for but also all the money I had earned and progress I had made in said run. I used to like this game and am willing to revert my review back to five stars if these issues are properly addressed and resolved in the near future.
Update: After numerous updates with “patches”, “bug fixes”, and “improvements”, the problems with the ad system have yet to be fixed.

It's a fun game to play and has a unique gameplay. You can beguile yourself with achieving high score or finishing challenges! this app has fun items to collect BUT....
There are many costumes to buy or unlock with SAM boxes, i mean who needs this much clothes for a game that the character is that much small and while running it gets even harder to see!!!!! On the other hand c'mon i mean the game is about jetpacks, it should have more of them,,, and when you talk about fantasy jetpacks the thing that comes in mind is a soda, right? They should work much more on jetpacks... for example the machine gun one kills the nerds, why bubbles of bubble gun jet pack don't float the nerds?!! Every time a new update comes i pray to see these especially soda thing!
Tthe other thing is challenges, they are frustratingly repetitious, i mean how many times should one touch those red light, at least halfbrick should include brand new challenges for example breaking the floor lights...
